Salt Lake City 因大鹽湖(the Big Salt Lake)而名, 大鹽湖是個閉鎖湖 , 雪水是主要的湖水來源 , as a closed lake, the big Salt Lake actually doesn't smell good, and has become smaller by ten times than original. However, it still looks beautiful though.
Salt Lake City 也是摩門教的聖地, 海鷗-Seagull 則是摩門教重要的象徵物.
所有教徒一生中必須奉獻兩年從事傳教工作, 每年薪水的十分之一奉獻給教會. 或因宗教因素, 聽說這裡的治安特別好.
這個城市街道寬廣恬靜, 種植了不少的花草, 五顏六色的花朵, 確實增添這個城市幾分姿色和活力.
這裡還出產銅礦, 高高的煙囪即是煉銅所在.
