Learn from my neighbors

The lady and guy in the pitures are my neighbors in College Ave. Both of them are pretty good, funny and special as being with specific habits and thoughts, which did actually surprised me.
She is Hoite, a Christian and from Burma; he is Anwar, a Muslim and from India.
Hoite has had two Master degrees already, sell Sushi in the Clemson campus and likes to make Bumish dishes-spicy and salty. To my disappointed is she stopped the friendship with me after Chinese New Year and left without saying good-bye the middle of this May. So far, I do not have any idea about the reason she stopped talking to me but ?????S he is lonely here. Due to refugee from her country, she couldn't return to her family as convenient as me. I feel I am much more lcuky than she is already, and should take more consideration on her.
She told me the Burmish people are the people who like eating and eating much more than the other countries people, therefore, there's a saying is famous in her country: "Work hard like Chinese; save money like India; but don't eat like Burmish."

Anwar is a post doc. currently of Chemistry department, still young but with good temper. He seems like to keep life very simple. Hoite always suggestted him to open international mouth because he rarely tried foods differernt from his country's.

We cooked and shared Burmish, India, and Taiwanese foods together from time to time, so that created more chances to experience the diverse cultures. We really have had good time, although just for few months. She is lonely here. Due to refugee from her country, she couldn't return to her family as convenient as me. I feel I am much more lcuky than she is already, and should take more consideration on her.

Both of them are actually pretty good. I'll keep them in my mind forever.

Based on my own experience, I do think to understand people from different countries is hard because of the different backgrounds and cultures; however; however, it is also difficult to realize the people who are from the same country with the same culture, this could become a frustration, which you never thought of this.
My suggestions on mingling with people in diversity would be:
1. The first of all: "Respect", always pay respect to the others;
2. "Appreciation", you don't take all things lucky on you for granted;
3. "Sincerely", no one want to waste their time on one not sincere;
4. "No early judgement on others"; on one hand, we should pay respect on individual characteristics; on the other hand, we never know what he/she was, what happened to them, and what it will be. Reduce misjudgement as possible, reduce the hurt on others.
We know too little about the world, what we can do is keep humble.
